Laundry day conspiracy: every single garment that I put into the dryer wound up inside-out. The mundane is the gateway to the absurd: I recall my college biology teacher, with whom I would have long conversations about everything from her research on kangaroo rats to Nostradamus and the study of epidemiology, noticed my artistic talent (as her tests were very diagram-heavy) and suggested that my thesis be an inquiry into the musculoskeletal anatomy of a six-legged cat. This kind of insane approach to academia really excited me, and I made some three-dimensional models and rudimentary sketches, but when she left for NAU I changed my focus to biochemistry. I think that I'll return to this project.
