Overheard in a coffee shop.

An old grandfather was just finishing telling a child a story. The grandfather's tentative, halting fashion seemed to indicate that he was slowly and permanently receding into a past that may or may not contain the tale. Near the end, the child could no longer contain its incredulity and asked, "Is that a true story ?"
The grandfather looked at once perplexed and a little incredulous himself. "It's supposed to be a true story. I don't see why it couldn't be ..."
