Shrek.

Went out to see the "Shrek" this afternoon. Despite the fact the target demographic also listens to Britney Spears, it was more intelligent than most of the crap that passes for cinema, and despite the fact that for some reason Smash Mouth was the featured musical ouevre, it gets, on the whole, sterling marks for one simple act: the emotional climax of the film is set to a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah performed by John Cole. None of the target demographic would know Leonard Cohen from Johnny Rotten, but that one choice made the difference between an enjoyable movie and a satisfying one.
